The spread of different coral heads will give way to caverns and underwater architectural arches swimming with any of the following:

Many species of sharks | Giant tunas | Barracudas | Trevaly | Skates | Napoleon fishes | Sea urchins | Parrot fish | Manta Rays | Nautilus | Langoustines and crawfish of all sizes | "the Popinée" or "Morton Bay Bug" | Giant turtles and Cuttlefish.

Diving in Ouvea
The island of Ouvea and the surrounding islets protect some of the best beaches in the world. With over 25 km of fine white sand, Ouvea is the most preserved of the Loyalty Islands and has kept its original beauty.

Diving excursions are available every day of the week and also includes dive sites outside of the coral barrier that are protected from the trade winds.

With many dive sites to choose from, Ouvea is one destination that all divers MUST include in their trip to New Caledonia.
